Funky Dresden
Take your improv quilting skills to the next level! Ellyn has designed a "Funky Dresden". You will learn her technique and create a funky dresden mini quilt of your own. No two will be alike! From here you can take the technique and run with it creating many different quilt tops.
I will include a small trunk show of improv quilts I have made in the last few years.
Note: Please bring a lunch as there are no food places nearby to grab lunch.

Instructor: | Ellyn Zinsmeister |
Instructor Bio: | Ellyn is a modern quilter, charter member and past president of the McKinney Modern Quilt Guild. She has been sewing for more than 50 years, quilting for more than 20 years. Ellyn admires all forms of traditional quilts and quilters, but making traditional quilts never quite rang true for her. When the Modern Quilt movement began more than 10 years ago she knew she had found her niche. Specifically, Ellyn loves improv quilting, saturated solid colors and collaborative quilting projects. Ellyn's work has been published in Quiltcon Magazine (2021), Simply Moderne magazine (2021) and Curated Quilts (January 2022). Her quilt Urban Emergence won first place in the Group Quilts category at Quiltcon in 2021 and hung at Quiltcon 2022. She loves the quilting community, most specifically her local quilting friends in the McKinney Modern Quilt Guild but also quilters she has connected with around the world. Learn more about Ellyn on her blog, www.ellynsplace.com, or @ellynz on Instagram. |
