Binding Basics

You've made a beautiful quilt and now it needs binding.  Learn how to calculate your binding needs, make the binding and how to attach it to the quilt and finish it by machine.

A small pre-quilted practice fabric will be provided as part of the class so you can learn the techniques and practice binding.  Please bring a quarter yard by width of fabric practice fabric to cut into binding.  If you bring a project to bind, there is no guarantee it will be finished in the allotted time for class.

Class supplies: sewing machine, basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, thread, bobbins, scissors, ruler, cutting mat, rotary cutter), minimum quarter yard of practice fabric

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Must have basic knowledge on sewing and use of your machine. This is not a sewing machine class, and you will need to understand how to operate your machine prior to this class. We will do our best to make sure that your machine is running and set up correctly, and will be available to answer questions, but we will not be teaching you how to use your machine.
Requirements: Bring a quarter yard by width of fabric practice piece of fabric. You will be provided with a pre-quilted piece of fabric to bind in the class. Please do not bring a project to bind in class as there will be no guarantee it will finish in the time allotted for class.
