Quilt College: All About Triangles
Many quilt patterns use triangles, so let's get familiar with the most common types and how to make them. We'll learn about half square triangles, quarter square triangles and flying geese. For our class project, we will be making half square triangles. We'll cover multiple ways to make them, allowing you to try them and discover which methods you prefer and why.
For our project, we'll be making a table runner using the Pinwheel Picnic Pattern by Villa Rosa.
Class supplies: sewing machine, basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, thread, bobbins, scissors, ruler, cutting mat, rotary cutter)

| Skill Details: | Must have basic knowledge on sewing and use of your machine. This is not a sewing machine class, and you will need to understand how to operate your machine prior to this class. We will do our best to make sure that your machine is running and set up correctly, and will be available to answer questions, but we will not be teaching you how to use your machine. An accurate 1/4" seam allowance is required for positive results in this class, so please make sure that you practice your seam allowance and know how to adjust your needle on your machine if necessary. |
| Requirements: | You will need to purchase a kit, or if you would prefer to use your own fabrics, print off the supply list to make sure you will have everything you need. This pattern calls for a 5" squares, but we will not be using charm packs in class and will be practicing cutting and squaring up our fabric. Please do not bring in any precuts for this class. |
